2. THE IDEA
In a perfect world, everybody carries only as much hand luggage as allowed.
But there are times when things don’t work out as planned:
Wouldn’t passengers be happier if there was more flexibility – to take important hand luggage onboard based upon their booked ticket, frequent flier status or for a fee?
3. THE SOLUTION
In case of too much or too large hand luggage, the gate does not open and shows a message to contact an agent. The agent checks-in the non-compliant luggage or shows buying options if the guest still wants to take the luggage on board.
Besides this example, from luggage statistics & predictions to many more advanced, fully automated processes are implementable, saving staff, resources, and money – or to make money with ancillaries.
Finally, Airlines can offer the newly regained space on board to passengers carrying important items – as a courtesy or for a fee.
